KARACHI: The oil tankers association has suspended supply of oil across the country to protest against the increase in income tax by the federal government.

All Pakistan Oil Tanker Contractors Association (APOTCA) and All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association (APOTOA) have announced that they will not supply oil across the country until the government retracts its decision.

APOTOA spokesman Israr Ahmed Shinwari told The Express Tribune that the increase in income tax has forced them to discontinue the oil supply.

According to Shinwari, between 42,000 to 43,000 oil tankers supplying petrol, diesel, furnace oil and other oil products across the country are members of APOTOA.
