Petrol pumps: OGRA opposes LPG installation

Ministry of Petroleum has initiated the plan to promote LPG in the country and import 10,000 LPG kits and cylinders.

ISLAMABAD:

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has opposed the plan to install Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) machines at petrol pumps but still advised the Ministry of Petroleum to ensure availability of the fuel before initialising its import.

An Ogra official said that the ministry has initiated the plan to promote LPG in the country and import 10,000 LPG kits and cylinders.

Sources further told that Ogra has proposed the government to ensure availability of at least 30,000 tons of LPG in the pipelines at all times.
