Promotion plea: ‘Honour national heroes’

LHC directed FESCO CEO to take decision on the promotion of four members of the national handball team within a month.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) chief executive to take a decision on the promotion of four members of the national handball team within a month. Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial issued the order while disposing of a petition moved by Nadeem, Naseer, Asim and Manzoor. They submitted that under the rules, players were entitled to a promotion when they won a gold medal in an international event. They said they had won gold medals in an event in Indonesia but had not been promoted to garde-18. The court disposed of the petition.
