Reassurance: ‘General elections will be on time’

Political parties predicting PPP’s defeat in the next elections should pay attention to the outcome of the by-polls.

Pakistan Peoples Party Bahawalpur Chapter information secretary Saleem Bhatti said on Monday that general elections would be held on time.


He was speaking to a delegation of party workers.

He said the political parties predicting PPP’s defeat in the next elections should pay attention to the outcome of the by-polls. He said the PPP would win the next elections.

He criticised Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for, what he called, his propaganda against the federal government regarding the power crisis in the country. He said the electricity crisis had existed well before the PPP came to power in 2008.

He also said the PML-N had violated the charter of democracy by accepting politicians from other parties in its fold. He said the PPP was working towards a solution to the Balochistan unrest and to raise people’s the standard of living.
