Arsalan Iftikhar case: British journalist denies contacting anyone
Earlier, media reports had claimed that the chief of Bahria Town, Malik Riaz, had approached Lamb -- the Washington bureau chief of Sunday Times -- to “break the news” about the scandal when the chief justice was scheduled to come to receive the International Jurists Award – 2012.
The reports further claimed that this move was planned to “bring a bad name” to the chief justice and might also force him to resign.
However, in her tweet on Sunday, she said:

Following media reports that Dr Arsalan had received between Rs300 and Rs400 million from Riaz to influence judicial proceedings, the chief justice had taken a suo motu notice and had summoned him and Bahria Town’s chief.
Malik Riaz, however, did not appear before the court and a personal staff officer had informed the court that he was in the United Kingdom, undergoing medical treatment.

If Arsalan was ‘duped’ into thinking of himself as a shrewd businessman I doubt he was very modest in showing off his progress to his daddy dear. However, I think we can simply pick up the Court’s performance in Malik Riaz’s cases. If our rejuvenated highly efficient ‘azaad adliya’ has manged to give any substantial verdicts against him it would largely absolve the Chief Justice of blame but if no verdicts have been passed against Malik Riaz a resignation from the Chief Justice is a must! His son was making millions while a Supreme Court that takes pride in its efficiency was not able to pass a single order? Coincidence I don’t think so!
@ Amir, word navy is widely used in west and many famous companies such as "Old Navy" has used this word in their names. Proper term for our Navy is Pakistan Naval Forces or Pakistan Navy. Therefore in my opnion using word Bahria, if its already not registered trademark of another company is legal.

The case is in Supreme Court of Pakistan between two Pakistani Nationals, what a third party of a foreign country will play a role into it?
NOTHING and nothing at all will come out of this case... ALL BIG GUNS, the rich and powerful are involved... Be ready to see another vague verdict with no clear outcome.

All indications point to the mala fide intentions of Malik Riaz. First he maintains a 'dossier' regarding this phoney matter. Then he spreads rumours of giving the information to international media. Then he becomes too sick to come to Pakistan to provide evidence in the case. He hires Zahid Bukhari, and pays him the 'best fees of his (Bukhari's) career.' (ZHB's own admission). As an Urdu proverb states it, 'Lies have no legs to stand on.' The people are waiting for him to give evidence in a case that, even if true, indicts Malik Riaz as much as, if not more than, Arsalan! His friends or backers should note that Musharraf's downfall began with the so-called 'reference' he brought against Chaudhary Iftikhar. His backers' downslide will begin with this concocted 'case' they have brought against the CJ.
Bahria Town in English means "Navy Town" and it was already legally challenged by Pakistan Navy in the courts, but due to pre-Iftikhar era, back in those days, people like Riyaz used to purchase judges instead of buying lawyers. I left the law practice only on the premise that how come a lawyer's consciences is for sale? This noble profession got black sheeps like Aitezaz as long as they have business tycoons like Malik Riyaz who think they can continue to purchase judges for decisions to be made in their favor. Not anymore ;) Long live justice, long live Pakistan and long live Islam!!!

Malik Riaz has committed another crime by showing evidences to Media, which is a solid proof of his criminal intent, since then he started to blackmail a selected person to attack Judiciary and get cleared from all his crimes he has committed. Enemies of Pakistan are behind him, who are well known and now exposed to the people of Pakistan,
These all things are jokes with the people of Pakistan to bring their attention on other said from their rights like poverty, health, load shedding and etc.

People with plots and houses in Bahria town should prepare to suffer drop in their property prices.
When the allegations against 9 generals and Choudhry Jr., appear they are all baseless and conspiracy. However, the selective justice against the elected secular leaders is all fair and meets the highest levels of justice. The CJ's family and generals cannot do this, corruption is limited to current rulers it was not there before them and would disappear after them. BTW, Gen Mush was a clean leader and CJ is clean, yet they called and tried to prove the other corrupt!
We must appreciate this lawyers a.he selects fat clints; b.immediately these clients get sick; c.and mostly choose UK hospitals; next thing we will hear (soon) their life is in danger n can't take risk to come/appear, let alone holding UK nationality. Pakistani's n world should ask themselves "is UK have special policy of protecting world class criminals n corrupt individuals"?

another blow to Malik Riyaz who claimed in an interview with Ansar Abbasi of The News to have contracted with her to break this Arsalan story during CJP UK visit for the award. he told ansar that when Riyaz showed his plans to Aitezaz Ahsan he stopped him from doing so. now after the move backfired, he took refuge in declaring himself medically unwell. and, his Husain Haqqani fame lawyer who kept his client 'unwell' in the memogate case is trying again now to keep Malik Riyaz away from the court proceedings on the same medical pretext. he seems to b an expert in such cases.

CJ's one brilliant preemptive move ( taking suo motu) and bringing the issue out in public has successfully thwarted the evil designs and motives of detractors. The so called case is already falling apart.

So what all we've been seeing in TV shows, reading in papers was all fake???? The media in Pakistan needs a serious attention and it needs it now.
Christina Lamb is a seasoned and highly respected journalist who has visited Pakistan many a times and perhaps written a book on Pakistan/Bhutto also.She is well conversant of ethic of journalism.Good journalists,she being one,never divulge source of information and make sure the line of communication remains open even though certain items of news were not of interest to them.
No surprise to have Christina Lamb's name be mentioned in incidents that are meant to put Pakistan in a bad light by liberals.
The International Jurists Award conferred to CJ Iftakhar - Being talked about loudly and celebrated - is awarded by the International Conference of Jurists, which is un-recognized shadow body and CJ Iftekhar is serving as its honourary Vice President, amongst many others. They usually give away awards based on the cash donations. This year's receipients were CJ Iftekhar and Indian politician Mulayam Singh Yadav (ex-CM of Utter Pardesh State). The only known and universaly recognised jurists body is called International Commission of Jurists. And it has not confered any awards to our CJ.
