Head-on collision: Seven dead, 20 injured
The collision was between a coaster and a bus in Bhakkar.

At least seven passengers died and 20 others suffered injuries in a head-on collision between a coaster and a bus in Bhakkar on Saturday. An official of the Punjab Highway Patrol, Muhammad Tanveer, told The Express Tribune that six of the seven passengers had died on the spot. He said the injured were taken to a rural health centre in Jandianwala where those with serious injuries were referred to Bhakkar district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. He said one of the injured died at the DHQ hospital. Doctors treating the injured at the DHQ hospital stated that all of them were now out of danger. DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ishaq said they would be discharged within a week. All seven who died in the accident were travelling on the coaster headed for Bhakkar city from Rawalpindi. The coaster collided with the bus on its way to Muzaffarabad from Karachi at around 2am on Saturday. Bhakkar Additional Collector Syed Aun Bukhari said all of the deceased belonged to Bhakkar and were returning home for the weekend. He said the bodies were being sent to their families.
