Volleyball: Pakistan thrashed in first qualifier

KARACHI: Pakistan had a dismal start at the volleyball Olympics qualifiers as they lost to hosts Bulgaria 3-0 in their opening match. The team is playing for a wild-card entry in the Olympics, their first appearance in a qualifying event. Pakistan lost 25-17, 25-12 and 25-21. Pakistan’s next match is against Egypt. They have to win at least two matches to qualify for the London Olympics. The team is competing against Bulgaria, France and Egypt for the London Games.
