Petitioners counsel contended that on March 29, the IHC had directed the IB chief to promote 40 inspectors
ISLAMABAD:

IHC Chief Justice issued notice to the IB chief on Friday asking him to submit his reply in two weeks on the petition filed by some of the bureau employees. They have ought contempt proceeding against the top official for defying court orders. The petitioners counsel contended that on March 29, the IHC had directed the IB chief to promote 40 inspectors who had been reinstated under the Sacked Employees (Reinstatement) Act 2010 as assistant directors. However, the official did not implemented the court orders. He argued that his clients had joined IB between 1975 and 1986 on clerical posts. In 1996, they were promoted to the rank of inspectors. However their services were terminated in 1997. He said that instead of reinstating them one scale higher as suggested in Section 4 of the Act, the authorities reappointed them on their previous pay scale and ranks.
