Facility: Utility Stores announces Rs2b Ramazan subsidy

Around 5-10% subsidy will be available on products in Utility Stores in the month of Ramazan

Utility Stores Corporation (USC) Managing Director Major General (Retired) Malik Muhammad Farooq has announced Rs2 billion in subsidies, and discounts on 800-1,000 items.


Talking exclusively to the Online news agency after announcing a decrease in sugar prices on Friday, he said that around 5-10% subsidy will be available on products in Utility Stores in the month of Ramazan, while sugar will be sold at Rs15-Rs18 less than the market price.

Replying to a question regarding the standard of Utility Stores products, he assured that besides providing cheaper products, the standard of products would also be raised.

It is pertinent to note that after the presentation of the latest budget, sugar will be the first item to be sold at discounted rates.
