LAHORE: Justice Abdul Sattar Asghar of the Lahore High Court on Thursday referred to Justice Abadur Rehman a case regarding the registration of an FIR against the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) guards by the city district government. As the proceedings began, the PCB’s lawyer submitted that the case against the guards was fabricated. He requested the court to order the police to quash the FIR. Justice Asghar, however, did not issue any order and instead referred the case to Justice Rehman. He observed that Justice Rehman was already hearing cases on the matter and the instant petition should also be fixed before his court. Gulberg town administration had demolished a wall of the PCB’s office at Gaddafi Stadium on June 2 (Saturday) and detained the board’s guards for several hours. Later, the police registered a case against the guards on charges of interfering with the government’s work.
