Bad weather: New chief secretary yet to reach Gilgit

GILGIT: Due to bad weather, the newly-appointed chief secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), Sajjad Saleem Hotiyana, has been unable to reach Gilgit for the past two days to assume his charge. An official of the district administration told The Express Tribune that the chief secretary was supposed to reach Gilgit on Wednesday but all flights to the mountainous region have been delayed due to bad weather.  Hotiyana is a 21-grade District Management Group official who will replace Saifullah Chatha as G-B’s chief secretary. The latter has been posted out nearly after a year of service in the region. Likewise, a new inspector general of police (IGP) will also be appointed after a suitable person is found to fill the post. According to sources, the federal government has proposed three people to the G-B government for the post of IGP.
