Ephedrine case: Evidence against Musa Gilani available, ANF tells court

ANF investigative officer says this is the first scandal being overlooked by the federation itself.

ISLAMABAD:
The officials of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) told the Supreme Court on Thursday that evidence is available against Ali Musa Gilani, son of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, in the Ephedrine scandal, reported Express News.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heading a three-member bench, inquired from the ANF on progress in the case. ANF investigation officer Brigadier Fahim, in reply, told the bench that evidence was available against Musa Gilani, and added that this was the first scandal which was being overlooked by the federation itself.

Brig Fahim further told the court that there was embezzlement worth Rs7 billion in the scandal.

On an application filed by manufacturers and chemists of being harassed by the ANF, the chief justice directed the ANF to work as per the law and not harass anyone.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned for three weeks.
