SIALKOT: The traders and industrialists on Tuesday took to the streets to register their protest against loadshedding in the district saying many industries had been brought to a standstill. The protesters gathered at China Chowk carrying banners and placards with slogans against the government. They blocked the Sialkot-Sambrial-Wazirabad Road for more than two hours. Naeem Anwar Qureshi, the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, said that excessive loadshedding had crippled the industries in Sialkot, which had come on the verge of collapse. He said despite their appeals, Gujranwala Electric Power Company remained unmoved. He said these outages, in some cases for 20 hours daily, were causing a Rs1 billion loss everyday.
