Home ground: Bilour visits Cantt Station

Federal Minister for Railways says railways had been trying to function on very old locomotives which develop faults.

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said that new locomotives were needed immediately for smooth running of all its trains smoothly. He was talking to the media on a visit to the Cantt Station’s locomotives shed. He said that the railways had been trying to function on 20-year-old to 30-years-old locomotives which develop faults every second day. Bilour said that the bailout package which was announced in 2008 was given in 2012. If it had been given then the railways would have been able to function smoothly till now.
