Dispute: Woman beaten, humiliated

Kidnapped at gun point from her house and taken to a dera, where they beat and humiliated her.

A woman filed a complaint with the police on Sunday against four men accusing them of kidnapping and beating her and shaving her head.

Alam Mai, a resident of Zafarabad village, approached the Shidani police and told them that Jameel, Jalil, Mohammad Baksh and Nazeer Ahmed had kidnapped her at gun point from her house and taken her to a dera, where they beat and humiliated her. She said they them fled leaving her there. She said the same men had registered a case against her son, Mehboob Ahmed, last week, accusing him of eloping with a girl of their family. She said the police had arrested her son, though he had nothing to do with the matter and that the girl had eloped with someone else. She said the men were now threatening to kill her if she pursued a case against them. She requested District Police Officer Sohail Zafar to take notice of the incident. The DPO directed the police officials concerned to probe the matter and arrest the suspects as soon as possible.
