Drone Strike: Militant chief’s brother, associate killed in Wana

Local militants reached area immediately after strike, moved bodies of dead to an undisclosed location.

WANA:

Two suspected militants including the brother of a local commander were killed when a US unmanned predator targeted their motorbike in Dabkot area of South Waziristan early Saturday morning, security officials said.

Khalil Yargul Khail and Rehmanullah Gangi Khail were six kilometres west of the Wana Bazar, when a missile launched from a drone struck them. According to security officials, Rehmanullah Gangi Khail was the brother of Muhammad Wali, a local commander of the Mullah Nazir Group of the Pakistani Taliban, operating in South Waziristan.

Eye witnesses told The Express Tribune that local militants reached the area immediately after the strike and moved the bodies of the dead to an undisclosed location.

“We could hear the explosion and were sure that another drone strike had been conducted to target someone because we could see smoke billowing from the location” they added.
