SUKKUR:

Energy crisis has caused great damage to our economy, because in the absence of electricity Pakistan cannot even satisfy its domestic demand, let alone compete in the international market.

National institutions like Pakistan Railways, Pakistan International Airlines, Water and Power Development Authority, Steel Mills and others are in shambles, due to mismanagement and corruption.

Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Mohammad Din observed this while giving post budget comments to The Express Tribune at his office in Sukkur on Saturday.

Considering prevailing socio-economic conditions of the country, budget 2012-2013 can be declared as a balanced budget, he said. Interests of all sections have been taken care off especially giving a 20% raise to the government servants and pensioners, he said.
