Protests And Demonstrations: Residents protest as suspect arrested

SUKKUR: Residents of Channa Mohalla, Thul, staged a sit in outside the Jacobabad Press Club on Saturday to protest against the police. Hazoor Bux Golo and others said that police contingent had raided their locality on Friday and ransacked their houses, manhandled women and children, and arrested Abdul Wahid Golo and Jumo Golo.  Jacobabad DSP Habibur Rehman Abro reached the spot and pacified the protesters. Thul DSP Ghulam Murtaza Mirani, however, denied the protesters’ claims, and said that police raided the house of Najam Din Golo, who was allegedly involved in the murder of Faiz Mohammad Channa. Najam Din, a police constable, was named in FIR no. 47/2012.
