‘Selective objection’: APML allowed June 3rd public meeting

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday allowed the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) to conduct a public meeting on June 3. APML leader Hafiz Ghulam Mohiuddin had submitted that the APML had announced it would hold a public convention but the district government was not it permission. He said that the party was ready to hold the meeting indoors. He said that the district government had not responded to its application. The CDGL’s counsel that the DCO had no objection if the public meeting was held within a boundary wall. Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh said, “How can the CDGL stop the APML from a public meeting when all political parties are holding them?” The court allowed the APML to hold the public meeting and warned the CDGL to not ‘create hurdles’.
