Schoolboy’s suicide: Body to be exhumed for investigation

ABBOTABAD:

The court of sessions judge Abbottabad has ordered exhuming the body of a schoolboy who committed suicide for alleged harsh behaviour of the hostel administration on Sunday.

Raja Abdul Mubeen, a seventh grader and boarder at Pakistan International Public School (PIS) committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan, when his mother insisted for him to return to the hostel. In his suicide note, he held responsible the “unbecoming” behaviour of his teachers, accusing his English teacher Sohrab Khan of corporal punishment, which had forced him to take the drastic step, said city police.

On the complaint of Mubeen’s father Muhammad Rafique, the police registered criminal case against three officials of PIPS. These are: PIPS Managing Director Brig (retd) Ehjaz Akbar, Principal Brig (retd) Ehsanullah and class teacher Sohrab Khan Jadoon under section 322/34. However, all of the accused have obtained pre-arrest bail from a local court.

The complainant here on Wednesday obtained permission from the court of sessions judge for exhuming the body of Mubeen for investigation.

On his application, the court deputed the area magistrate Muhammad Ghayas for supervising the exhuming process which is going to be carried out on Saturday (tomorrow).
