LOS ANGELES: Socialite Kim Kardashian alleged that British Airways staff stole her pair of sunglasses when she was returning from the 65th Cannes International Film Festival.

Kardashian used Twitter as a medium to vent her anger.

"Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine. Some things are sentimental & not replaceable," the 31-year-old tweeted.

The main item allegedly stolen was the pair of sunglasses that her father Robert Kardashian had gifted her. Kardashian is said to have only worn the sunglasses for special occasions, reports tmz.com.

However, a spokesperson from the airlines has denied allegations and said that they are investigating the matter.

"Kardashian travelled from Nice to Heathrow Terminal 5 to Los Angeles. Terminal 5 has some of the most sophisticated automated baggage systems in the world, which are able to monitor bags every minute of their time in the terminal. At this stage, we have discovered no evidence to suggest that the bag in question was interfered with at Heathrow," tmz.com quoted a spokesperson from the airlines as saying.

"Our investigation is also seeking to establish details of the bag's passage through Nice and Los Angeles airports," added the spokesperson.
