The district administration on has banned boating on Saiful Malook Lake and camping along its bank.
The orders were issued by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mansehra Dr Ambar Ali Khan on Tuesday owing to growing complaints by environmentalists.
They maintained that the lake’s marine life is at risk by the immense amount of solid waste dumped in the lake by tourists.
To ensure cleanliness and to protect marine life, the DCO has imposed a ban on parking and camping within 200 yards of the lake’s bank. He warned that violators will be dealt with strictly under the law.
With the onset of summer, picnickers from across the country throng to the lake where they enjoy boating and erect tents to spend nights on the shores.

They should fix bins at all public places and appoint few people to look after the area and fine anyone littering at all these tourist spots.
Why would they ban camping on the bank of lake? They should educate people not to litter and devise a mechanism to ensure it remains clean.
I thought marine meant "related to sea or ocean"
Sounds good...I was there last year and i was shocked at 300 jeeps parked and thousands of people and heaps of plastic bottles etc and weather of the area also was on warmer side if i compare it with my first trip in year 99 when only two jeeps were present on that lake in mid of June. everything was so pure and natural....
I think they should have something like ban on the jeeps to park at least three kilometers away from the lake and then make some excellent trek so people can really enjoy the place and it will also help in keeping lake safe from liter and pollution because less people will walk up toward the lake and i feel those who arrive there without any hassle contribute alot to the wastage issue.
