The Khyber-Pakthunkhwa (K-P) government is setting up a research centre to promote livestock in Kohat district, which will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs70 million.
This was declared by K-P Minister for Livestock Hidayatullah Khan while addressing a public gathering in Kohat district on Wednesday. He said the centre will focus on research on sheep and goats to increase production.
Khan said that the government accords high priority to livestock and poultry sectors in the province and is focusing on establishing model poultry farms and research centres to cater the growing milk and meat demands of Pakistan.
These centres will promote livestock and poultry sectors in rural areas and will increase income of masses and farmers.
He claimed that K-P Oil and Gas Company will be commissioned soon to fully tap the province’s rich potential.
