Armed engineer arrested aboard Muscat-bound plane
Officials said that a man identified as Iftikhar Ali, an aircraft engineer with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), was on board flight PK 225, flying from Karachi to Muscat, Oman. He was apprehended and a pistol with six bullets were recovered from his possession.
ASF officials have handed Ali over to Airport Police who are currently questioning him regarding the weapon.
Unless carried by authorised flight marshals, firearms and ammunition are prohibited on board commercial aircrafts.
Once authorities process Ali, a case is expected to be registered against him.
Last month, PIA airliner was forced to land shortly after takeoff from Karachi after a passenger threatened to hijack the aircraft.

excuse me every1...you can't jxt believe in news rather u don knw a person. Iftikhar ali is an honest person serving PIA fan last 27 yrx,it wx a mistake he took a wrong bag to d airport, he wasn"t at d plane rathr wx at d screning machine ven entrd airport ven he realised dat he was having gun n dat was fa his security, its nt a sin! u can't blame a person wid closed eyes...media is not rite awl d tym!

Not that i'm prejudging, but the easiest way to ruin someone's life for good is to slip a bullet in their travel bag. Much cheaper than slipping in gold, dollars or hash.
Send him to jail for very long time under charges of terrorism and attempt of hijacking......

Whats wrong with this nation ? So much weird happening every day. This time an armed engineer is apprehended. What was his motive in boarding a plane with pistol and 6 bullets. I have serious concerns about the sanity of this nation
