Fuel adjustment: NEPRA raises power tariff by Rs1.97

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has raised power tariff by Rs1.97 per unit on account of fuel adjustment for April 2012, Express News reported on Tuesday.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CCPA) had proposed a raise of Rs2 per unit.

CCPA had maintained that in the month of April 2012, the electricity production remained low, and the hike in gas tariff upped the electricity tariff by 60 paisas per unit, while the average cost of electricity remained Rs13 per unit.
