The strike targeted a militant vehicle in Pai Khel village of the Datta Khel district, 30 kilometres (18 miles) west of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan. The drone had fired two missiles at a vehicle killing four militants, a security official told AFP.
Earlier on Monday, at least eight militants were killed when a US drone launched a missile attack in Mir Ali sub-division of North Waziristan Agency, security officials said on Monday.
The first attack took place in the Esokhel sub-division of Mir Ali when a US drone launched four missiles on a house which was under construction. Six militants, including five foreigners were killed.
"The house was razed to the ground," officials added.
An eye witness stated that soon after the attack, militants surrounded the area and recovered bodies from the debris and shifted them to an undisclosed location.
In another drone attack, a missile was fired at a vehicle in Khushali about 5km west of Mir Ali Bazaar. Two militants were killed and the vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack.
Drone strike in Yemen
Following the double drone strike in Pakistan, US forces carried out a drone strike in Yemen where five al Qaeda militants were killed, a tribal source told AFP.
"A US drone struck a convoy carrying al Qaeda's leader in Bayda province, Qaed al-Dahab," the tribal source said on condition of anonymity, adding that "Dahab survived but five of his guards were killed."
The strike hit the militants as they were travelling in the area of Manaseh, east of the city of Radaa in central Yemen, he said. However, some sources claimed that of the dead, two were civilians. This claim could not be independently verified.

@Cautious: I agree with you. The more Pakistan blackmails, extort, or price gouge the more the US going to react strongly. No super power is going to give up to these strong arm tactics. Regards, Mirza
The US is celebrating Youm-e-Ababeel while Pac-Land is celebrating its Youm-e-Taqbeer. The writing on the skies seems to be a Drone-A-Day whacks Ten Terrorists away !!!
@King:
Those who are proud of their zakhira of nuclear bombs, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and AWACKS with one million army (include reserves) and millions of non-state-actors are helpless?
The real reason is drone strikes have tacit approval of Pakistan military. Otherwise, why won't they try to target drones at least once. Double game is not defenselessness.
Sovereignty belongs to those who are mentally sovereign and have no ban on dreams...
@Mirza u r absolutely right. Our army have an understanding with US army to kill militants in tribal areas whom they themselves are afraid to do so because of public opinion and imminent defeat. Why were they furious when Osama was killed? Because they had not allowed US to enter or attack that area. So many yrs attacks are taking place in fata they have never got that furious
@King: It is the job of Pakistan Army to ensure that the innocents are not near the terrorists even if they cannot eliminate these terrorists. If still the innocents want to be near the terrorists, they are not innocent but complicit. How come the innocents are so close to the terrorists? Are the terrorists holding them by force as human shield? If so, why does not Pakistanis condemn the terrorists? Importantly, even if few collateral damages occur, it prevents lot of innocents being killed by these terrorists in Pakistan and rest of the world. It is the opinion in rest of the World that Pakistan's Army, Judiciary and religious extremists are nurturing and protecting these terrorists. The World will not change its opinion unless it sees and feels that real change has taken place. Pakistan may argue that every innocent killed gives birth to several terrorists. The World sees it otherwise. They think that every terrorist killed in Pakistan reduces terror activities 1000 folds in the World outside Pakistan. Prior to the Drone attacks, terrorists used to post video clips of beheading foreigners very regularly. Do you see them now?
It would appear that the American have changed their recent policy of reduced drone attacks to appease Pakistan - maybe they didn't think Pakistan gave them sufficient credit for the reduction?
@King: Sir there is no need for name calling. I would like to keep it civil. Thank you. If you feel defenseless despite all the toys and half million army, then why not use that money for the uplift of people? Iran has less equipped and smaller army but they shot down a drone, but why are we not even trying? Why continue to keep putting all the resources in a bottomless bucket, with no results? Please try to understand I have nothing personal to gain if the plight of your civilians is improved. What good has this huge investment on the army has returned to the country? Regards, Mirza
When ever innocents are killed it pains every pakistani but is fact that local millitants Bring these beast colleagues of them to theit hujras and houses and And innocents gets perished when drones strikes. If Usa is killing millitants Who do not recognise pakistan as a soverighn state then it is evident that who is more lethal enemy of ours. We want precised attacks to elimunate all these beasts
@Khan, "people in FATA love drone strikes" surely you jest
@ King - it's also an undeniable fact that people in FATA love drone strikes because they kill mostly terrorists. Is there collateral damage? Of course. No one is pretending there isn't but if the Pakistani Deep State (ISI, military, etc.) is unwilling to do anything to prevent the rise of terrorism, then be thankful the US is willing to spend billions of its own dollars to clean up the mess.
@Anthony True, And its the same US who is trying to negotiate with these militants in Afghanistan.... What a hypocrisy...
@Mirza, It's an undeniable fact that many innocent people have been killed in drone strikes and to deny this fact is pretty stupid. Our half a million army with expensive toys is nothing compared to what US can do...so yes we are defenseless.
@King: First the US is not killing innocent civilians. Even if they are, then what is the use of having over half a million strong army with all the expensive toys? What is the main purpose of the army if not to protect its civilians? Your post gives a picture as if Pakistanis are all defenseless and without any army and only at the mercy of foreign powers. Regards, Mirza
So many attacks in recent days whats our army's response?
Memorial day gift to global village.
The USA is doing the world a favor by their work in Pakistan. Go USA slowly slowly finish them all.
US is releasing its anger on innocent people who cannot defend themselves, just like they did after Pakistan released Raymond Davis. Disgusting
