Speaking during a press conference in Islamabad, Imran added that PTI will not make an alliance with any party that has been supporting the present government.
“By being a coalition partner, MQM is protecting Pakistan’s most corrupt government,” Imran said.
The PTI chairman further said that the PML-N has damaged Pakistan by performing like a “friendly opposition.”
Without taking any names, Imran said many members of different political parties have asked him if he would accept them into his party. “We [PTI] told them that we cannot because they don’t fit in,” he said.
Earlier during the Liaquat Bagh rally, Imran said PTI’s popularity had risen to 33% in Punjab according to a popularity survey conducted by an international organisation.

if IK do not make alliance with mqm then it is extremly difficult for him to get into the politices of sindh.!!
ik van only avoid alliance if he wins two third majority is the tsunami reaaly going to help him do that in the elections, and if he is to seat in the opposition then the wave of motivation wont be the same like it is now wait for a new era,pti will have to make alliance
@Ali - please explain what burger is. and you are probably stuck in your own little world of no logic and just cries. your brain seems to be funtioning on a software loop which only knows to repeat the term Burger, obviously you are not a thinker but a frustrated individual tooo scared of the rise of PTI. If you perceive educated, well aware, political savy individuals as burgers, then let them be, your frsutration stems from the fact that these burgers are too cleve to understand right and wromg and the so popular Topi Drama cum Noora Kushti
Get a life mate
Can we take it an indication of future alliance with PPP, if at all PTI succeeds in getting represented in parliament?
According to Hamid Mir @HamidMirGEO 27-May-2012 Yes SR(Sheikh Rashid) wanted to join PTI but IK disapproved the idea then he tried for an alliance but not finalized yet many in PTI opposed. 26-May-2012 this is your opinion but some top PML-N leaders are ready to accept Mushahid Hussain they tried to hunt him down but failed.
Imran was going to file cases against Altaf Hussian?
hahaha yeah right they are in the alliance with MQM not officially but they are that Karachi Jalsa proved that. They are the only two parties backed by army and anybody who wants to come into Karachi they need to do alliance with MQM.
I love Imran Khan more and more everyday. I just hope God willing that situations conspire in his favour and he is able to make the changes that are needed in Pakistan.
If MQM takes Karachi and PTI wins the center what will happen if MQM sits in opposition? Its a known fact that no govt in Pakistan can run without the support of a party winning from Karachi. Karachi is Pakistan's lifeline, it feeds Pakistan.
All PTI supporters are living in fools paradise. I wonder why Mr khan is so naive to take surveys and opinion polls so seriously in paksitan. By comapring the Pak situation with west (where he claims election results show more or less similar trends) he is either naive, misguided, misinformed about the pak social and political set up or has already made up his mind that these opinion polls would be used to save face in the event of a defeat by declaring the polls as rigged.
@PM:
That means something is definitely wrong with MQM too along with PML-N and PPP.Isn't it?
@omer: he wil prefer opposition istead coalitian with mqm nd pml n
I am not too fussed about who IK shares the Govt with as long as he is on the driving seat because he is the one who won't give concessions to his coalition partners. Secondly, we shouldn't expect miracles from him to start with because the situation on the ground is very complex and difficult to be managed BUT what we surely could EXPECT from him is that he can not perform as bad as the current ruling elite who don't have any brain. Most Importantly we can't expect any better from the current rulers and the friendly opposition as well. So IK deserves and will get a chance InshaAllah.
@Ch Allah Daad:
PMLN worked very hard in punjab by wasting tax payer money on advertisements, laptops, sasti rot, yellow cabs. how come they will not able to win the election. still in trouble.very sad. you lost your hope after pindi jalsa.
who did vote gilani. it was pmln. how come you people can lie easy. are PMLN is oppostion??? stop drama bazi.
your leader should packed his suitcases for jeddah or london.
@Syed Raza:
I think PPP has mustered bigger crowds in the face of dictatorial regime like Zia. Even the Kamoon Shaheed jalsa a month back was massive yet urban dwelling media men don't see it fit to cover it.
The IRI survey is not credible as the methodology of the same has been withheld.
For those commenting on burgers. it was the "facebook burgers" that brought the revolution in Egypt and toppled a 40 years dictator. It was the "burgers" student that came on street for independent judiciary. And why Pakistan is in the state today is because "burgers" kept themselves away from politics and "ghunday" and jiyalas like Jhangir Badr, Sher Abi Ali, Rana Sanaullah were supporting these mafia partys and became minister. We need "burgers" that can understand a vision - talk about peace and not dhanga fasad and about rule of law and not gandasa.
hahhaha, total trash. Mummy daddy kids in action.
Question : when the political ratings drop ... what to do ??? ans : Bash MQM ... .. now imrans popularity will sky rocket
@Blithe: No he wont because he is not Nawaz Sharif he is Imran Khan!!!!!!A Man who keeps his word and stand.
No matter what ppl say MQM when they were given full authority, they ran karachi beautifully, PTI should make an alliance with MQM. They will be fools not too. Ppl dont know the reality of mqm what they actually do specially in punjab they have been tainted as gangsters, etc. Yes in certain cases they must taken up arms but then again who doesn't in pak
If mqm doesn't work with ppp, ppp will eat what ever is left of karachi...
He could not impress me by his role in contempt of court decision against the premiere. He dragged the matter into the court again. Why not he chose to decide it on roads if his party has power of common men. Apex court is already over flooded and over loaded and the government is trying to make it controversial. Politicians should play their own role and should not pull every matter in to the court.
And Imran is going to successfully vote PPP into power :D
Another Hypocrisy.. Imran Khan is also hypocrite during the show of shahzeb khanzada at IBA karachi he refused to answer every question about MQM and said please dont ask such questions today.. and i wonder why media was comparing Imran Khan with Zulfiqar Bhutto after Lahore jalsa is media illeterate or dumb? cant they see the difference in population of lahore at the time of zulfiqar bhutto and now?
Details of the poll mentioned by IK can be seen here: http://www.thenewstribe.com/2012/05/05/pti-leads-among-pakistan-political-parties-iri-poll/#.T8O5VtVYv_I
Tsunami brought Tabdeeli on 25th dec... Those who cant see PTI winning can live in the Past, We Karachiites have decided to bring the Change...!!! Awaiting for Elections, Regards - A Karachiite
I personally don't care much for Imran Khan as a person; in his past, he has been arrogant, short-sighted, and something of a hypocrite.
HOWEVER - PTI has my support, if only because the party represents the next stage of Pakistan's political evolution. NO individual, NO party, and NO ideology is more important than the wellbeing of Pakistan; that alone must be the order of the day.
Hasan
I hate to say this, but having an alliance with MQM is unfortunately a prerequisite for expanding PTI's hold into Karachi. And considering that this city alone generates around 70% of the country's revenue, this decision will matter a lot if Imran Khan (Insha Allah) becomes PM. Same goes for PML-N and rural Punjab, and since Punjab's main industry is agriculture, this is also very important. Realistically speaking, he will eventually have to soften his stance to have a realistic chance of penetrating Pakistan's biggest city and most populated province.
Staying on principles is more important than being in government with these goons.. Good Work!
There are no permanent enemies and friends in politics.ALLIANCES and coalitions are inevitable in democratic system without which it would become impossible no run the system.Maybe he does not want alliance in the near future but his statements shows he has no intention for an alliance forever which again shows he has failed to grow up as a politician.
@Ali: LOL all IK supporters are not Toru. I am probably less burger than you. I grew up playing gully cricket and having "dhabay ki chay".. You on the other hand can only sit in your drawing room and comment on others. Get a life troll.
I am feeling that Imran khan is getting arrogant after gaining some popularity in recent times, that is going to cost him in upcoming elections in punjab where arrogant people are not liked at all , the reason Nawaz sharif dominates in punjab is because he behaves like a gentleman which is what the people want to have as their leader in our part of the country.
Burgers will give a fitting reply to the status-quo in general elections.. All these PPP and PMLN wala would b absent from ET on Election day and forever after that..!
@Ali: lols good one !!!
Dont make alliance but keep accomdating their candidates..
Burgers dont understand that the general elections will not be held on Facebook!
sir, if not mqm, ppp, pml-n then who? even with your tsunami you dont stand a stance against two of the largest parties in pakistan along with rulers of karachi. this coming from a well wishing neutral.
100% agree with IK.....No alliance with any corrupt party like PPP MQM PML N ANP Diesel etc...Love u IK..........U r our next PM InshaALLAH
Dont take the burgers seriously! PTI is history! done and dusted for good!
@ zafar Bhatti:
Mr. the popularity of any party cannot be judged through rallies. we have seen rallies of jamat islami. Even JUI F jalsa in karachi was very large gathering if you have watched it. I dont know why IRI published all the aspects of its survey on the website but not the survey result itself. There seems to be no logic. Is this transperancy of information.
The survey you all are quoting has already been challenged in a recent episode of 'bolta pakistan' on aaj tv.........i am unable to recall the date. mr. nusrat javed showed the webpages of IRI where they said that we dont own the survey results. so the truth needs to be established.
@Blithe: IK just fielded a joint candidate with Q and PPP against PML N in South Punjab....
What is IK talking about???? Just a pack of lies !
@Ali: Burgers are still better than Patwaris. Atleast they can fill the whole Minar-e-Pakistan. I bet even if whole patwaris of punjab gathers at Minar-e-Pakistan, it will still be half empty...
Mark my words. He will make alliance with MQM and PPP.
@pakistani: Here you go. IRI haven't released it on it's website, but has given copies to media and political parties.. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a04LnbpWM0
@ pakistani: IRI (International Repulican Institute) Survey. A credible survey all over the world.
Well done Mr. khan
PTI will not get a single seat from Lahore!!
I bet he will make alliance with MQM.
@Ali Tipu: Yes... 30 October was the turning point.... I still remember that day when I first attended any jalsa in whole life of 25 years... And I waited hours with my friends to listen IMRAN KHAN... THAT DAY WAS AWESOME...
We fully support this stance!!
Would anyone from PTI care to tell us, which survey is he talking about. Please post a link of that site (no pti site please). All the readers will be enlightened, i am sure.
Not a PTI supporter. but 100% agree with IK on this issue.
I think Imran has done a great Job.
No other party has been able to muster crowds like these, even with the assitance of public (Govt.) machinery. Now only 2 things can defeat PTI. The people of Pakistan who have been to lazy to vote in the past Or PTI itself by doing something stupid.
I dont think even PPP/PML (N) combined can beat PTI and that whats going to happen Inshallah.
what a joke imran khan.......at present you are the biggest ally and supporter of this government.
Let's see Imran Khan and His vision about future bright Pakistan. We simply trust Him. To all my brothers and sisters please don't put all on Imran Khan we should come forward and help him to see the change in Pakistan. Inshallah we will success.
@Ali Tipu: Yea..30th October just turned everything around. I am really proud of my city, Lahore. LAHORE for ever!!!!!
What a dramatic turn of events that have taken place during the last 6 months or so. A party who doesn't even have a single seat in the parliament has become the voice of the nation. Rawalpindi was buzzing with PTI and IK yesterday. It was insanely passionate , patriotic and soothing just to be there standing in hot and humid temperature. I am sure with this present rate, PTI will come out to be a clear cut and the only winner across Pakistan. I must say Lahore writes its own history and that of Pakistan's too. Thank you Lahore for 30th Oct 2011. Pakistan has surely changed after that.
Good stand.
Time will tell if PTI sticks to his words of not doing any alliance with MQM or not. Because so far, it is clear that they are soft on each other. IK talks abt corruption but hardly criticizes at killing machines and violent gangs of Karachi. Who banned IK's entry to Karachi? IK took ALtaf Hussain Bhais case to UK courts? Does IK expect any good from that party? IK! Pls be clear and vocal on MQM. Stop hidden nexus and soft stance against MQM.
Keep dreaming burgers! You will clean sweep yourself on election day with nowhere to hide!
@Noble Tufail: Clean sweep by PTI to the other political parties in upcoming elections??lol
He will make alliance with PML(N) when due to his hard efforts PML(N) and PTI both are defeated in elections and sit on opposition benches
So u will make govt with out coalition? You maybe waiting a few decades.
not the figure 33% but the speed of reaching 33% is important .. and if it continues with the same pace ... clean sweep is not far away.
I fully support Imran Khan on this stand zindabad khan ji.
