Alleged rigging: Court dismisses petition against Bodla

Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh observed election had been fair; petitioner could not prove that it had been rigged.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of a PML-Q MNA for allegedly rigging the elections. Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh observed that the election had been fair, adding that the petitioner could not prove that it had been rigged. Haider Zaman had challenged the election of Pir Muhammad Aslam Bodla and requested that the court order a recount. The counsel for the respondent submitted that the election had been free and fair.
