Cricket: Majeed to appeal against conviction

Mazhar Majeed, the bookie who was sentenced to two years and eight months after the spot-fixing fiasco in the 2010 Lord’s Test against England, appealed against his conviction, according to Sky Sports. Salman Butt, Mohammd Amir and Mohammad Asif also received custodial sentences in November over the scandal. Amir and Butt, who were involved with Majeed in the scandal, also appealed to have their sentences reduced unsuccessfully at the Court of Appeal in November.
