Obama reaffirmed revival of Pak-US relations: White House official
White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, in a press conference at the National Press Club, said that both the US and Pakistan want to see the Nato supply routes reopened.
“We are committed to seeing it reopened,” he said that the US has been respectful of the parliamentary review process in Pakistan.
Rhodes said that the brief trilateral meeting between the leaders of US, Pakistan and Afghanistan focused on Afghanistan, and that they wanted Pakistan to be part of the discussion.
He said that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had also made statements earlier on supporting an Afghan-led reconciliation.
When asked if the US would ever apologise over the Salala incident, Rhodes reiterated the US stance that they deeply regret the incident. “We believe there is a basis to move forward.”
He added that there was a need to be in better communication on the border, to ensure an incident like this doesn’t happen again.

Apology is must,people of Pakistani are not a scapegoat being killed by drones.
Salala outpost incident is not a minor or little,it was a great shock for whole of the nation,can not be disregard easily.
According to the law well known all of the world,no one can be prosecuted or killed on the basis of vage or unspecified allegations.
It was a result of bad blood,malafide and deliberate,Pakistan deserve sympathy and American should say sorry, on that tragedy ,it is indispensable,otherwise people of Pakistan can their set their destination giving up American friendship.
History is witness and speaks itself,United States is not a dependable friend,
Pakistan is messing a bit too much with the USA.. I believe diplomatic relations are important now, since USA is a super power, it can legitimize anything for itself, for instance the Iraq and Afghan wars. and no UN could not stop it. But at the same time I feel kind of proud tht for once Pakistan is standing up for its civilians ... Cannot predict what might happen next.. this whole episode is kind of exciting!!

Do Americans need to know that Foreign and Defence policies (to name just a couple) are totally under the military control and that the present civilian government has no control whatsoever? I don't know what happened at Salala in November last year but what I am sure of is that the US knows it all along that it is the military in Pakistan who is calling the shots behind the scene. So long as US and other western countries make the military aid to Pakistan, nothing is going to change no matter what civilian government is ruling.
