US drone strike kills 6 in North Waziristan
According to the official, one house and one mosque near the Esokhel graveyard were hit with two missiles around 5:30am, killing six militants and partially damaging the mosque in the attack.
An eye witness told The Express Tribune that the impact of the strikes razed the mud house in which militants were residing to the ground.
Soon after the strike, local militants surrounded the house and shifted the bodies to an undisclosed location, said the witness.
This was the second attack after the Chicago summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Four militants were killed in a similar drone strike in Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan Agency a day earlier.
Earlier, Reuters reports stated that 10 militants were killed.

i wasn't there so I can't say who exactly they kill each time ("innocent" or not), but i will say this: the US is capable of such greater warfare than these drones. they have technology and trained soldiers that could easily nix their enemies: especially if they're hiding amongst goat herders. so why do it this way is a good question, especially when they increase in frequency following pressure on the Pakistan government to reopen routes to Afghanistan.
US is launching their expensive drones just to kill some innocent goat-herding tribals... why should they do it ?
they're not MY MILITANTS imran the troll. im sure you are an american and know full well the implications of what the US government is doing to further aggravate relations with pakistan. the only argument you can muster is that there are no innocents being killed? this is a FACT admitted by all, and while the US maintains that these are acceptable casualties of their "war on terror", it is part of why pakistan is not cool with the US bombing willy nilly within the borders of their country. you say a lot imran, but nothing worth listening to.

i cant believe the trolls on this site; no normal people would be elated about the US intentionally trying to ignite war with pakistan by way of drone bombings. the US knows it is a slap in the face to Pakistan to continue doing this and will never back down or aplologize for what they call justified actions under the "laws of war". in the US they say that the 9/11 attacks, which the government loved, were the main driving force behind their "war on terror". it is ironic therefore that they claim to be fighting terrorists by also bombing countless innocent civilians. killing in this way will only raise resentment and hatred, which is what they want. not to mention that this standoff can only last so long with neither side relenting, and how is it that being so wrong americans and trolls alike feel so righteous?

supply of decent rocket launcher to the tribals will solve the problem for tribles immediatlly and would creat more pain for nato............
US should give adequate compensation to Pakistan for the loss of these strategic assets along with charges of violation of its air-space. Country-wise evaluation of assets along air-space violation charges per drone visit should be fixed and agreement be signed between the two countries as done in the case of containers levy to Afganistan.

The best scenario for Pakistan is to negotiate transit fee for each drone. Pakistan gets what it wants and so do USA.

why is it that NONE of these reports ever delineate the number of civilians, if any, were killed in these strikes. it just says ten dead and that the strike was done where militant presence were suspected. who actually died among those ten? do we have a right to know?

I think the Americans have responded to Pres Zardari.
Just couple of weeks back, 12 Pakistani soldiers were beheaded in Miranshah by the militants and now these drone strikes. Who says that US-Pak are not cooperating anymore.

A couple of observations:
The US hates Haqqanis doe snot FEAR them. IT is not as though Pakistan was willing to take action against Haqqanis when things were hunky dory. Pakistan NEVER took action against Haqqanis even during the cosy Bush days. It is only an issue now because Obama administration is demanding accountability for Pak's claim as an ally in Global War on terror.good riddance..
Clearly, if Pakistan does not backdown, US is not showing any signs of backing down either. The drone attacks which had been put on hold during parliament deliberations have started back slowly ramping up to their earlier frequency.
Dictionaries should be updated all over the world as "suspected" =Proven now.
I was checking online but lazy people haven't changed the meanings of the "suspected" yet.
Well, the message is clear. N. Waziristan operation is more important than NATO supply route. What is also conveyed to PAK is that PAK has nothing to negotiate with, except the threat of mayhem in Afghanistan.
