Speaker NA seeks Gilani’s reply in contempt case: Report
According to the report, Dr Mirza is due to announce her decision regarding Gilani’s disqualification this week.
Sources told DawnNews that Gilani will respond to the speaker with an official written reply by Wednesday.
Under the Constitution, the speaker is required to send a reference to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) within 30 days if she thinks the prime minister stands disqualified in light of the Supreme Court verdict in the contempt case.
Dr Mirza, talking to The Express Tribune, had earlier said it was not clear when the period of 30 days would end.

keeping in view the zardari's record..........my expectation is that the speaker will forward the gilani's case to the CEC. The gilani may finally be disqualified under a scheme. He along with all PPP will achieve the political martydom, which they badly need after such poor governance. The PPP will claim that they are so honest that their speaker forwarded the case of their own PM.
Mr. gilani will go around the country specially south punjab doing fiery speeches and will try to get the max political milage. but all this will happen after budget. PPP will claim that they were not allowed to serve the poor people and cospiracies were hatched against them.........blah blah blah............because they voiced for siraiki suba and sindh's people blah........blah.....blah.
How do they get away fooling the public for years and years. I think we just get immune to the massive blunders these people make ie: PM cnn interview etc. We then just wait for something even worse to happen. The reason for them defying everyone is that they know they will get away from it!

The Speaker must exercise political wisdom and side the PM. Her decision is final and she can use her option to save the Government. However, I know that it is not popular public opinion. But leaders are sometimes to administer bitter pills to bring stability in a country and give democracy a trial.

Gilani's reply will be that he is appealing the conviction. Speaker then goes into relax mode as she does not have to do anything till the appeal is settled by SC.
