Wired Up: University to have its own radio station

Setting up a station at the department of mass communication to promote educational and academic programmes.

HYDERABAD: The University of Sindh has proposed setting up an FM radio station at the department of mass communication to promote educational and academic programmes and to train its graduates. On Monday, acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Parveen Shah, mass communication’s Dr Rizwana Chang, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal and FM 105 manager Ishrat Hussain discussed the process of setting up the radio station. The university would approach National Public Radio (NPR) and USAID Education for help. They discussed asking the provincial and federal governments and philanthropists for money. It is expected to cost Rs5 million.
