Lahore high court: Plea to reserve Rs5b for coal project

The government had failed to provide funds which could lead to closure of the project.

LAHORE: A petition has been moved before the Lahore High Court seeking directions to the federal government to reserve Rs5 billion funds in the budget for the Thar Coal Project. Petitioner Advocate Chaudhry Maqsood Gujjar said Pakistan was facing an energy crisis, which had affected industrial and economic activities. He said the government had failed to provide funds which could lead to closure of the project.
