FAISALABAD: A police investigation concluded on Sunday that the death of Muhammad Umar Khalid, a 6th grade student who committed suicide on Friday, was not his teachers’ fault. Batala Colony Investigation Incharge SI Abdus Sattar said, “The boy committed suicide. We have not been able to find the school teachers responsible for his death.” He said that if a student does not attend classes, a teacher should direct him to bring one of his parents to school. “If a student commits suicide over this or a reprimand, the teacher is not responsible,” he said.
