Golf: Mir to take part in World Junior Open

The 15-year-old’s impressive performance earned him the ticket to England for the event that starts on July 15.

Youngster Faisal Mir has been selected to represent Pakistan in the World Junior Golf Open 2012 scheduled to be held at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lancashire.


Mir, who hails from Gujranwala Golf Club, is a six handicapper and clinched the Pakistan Junior Golf Open at Defense Raya Golf and Country Club, Lahore by a comfortable margin of 10 shots yesterday.

The tournament was held to serve as trials for the World Junior Golf Open 2012 and the 15-year-old’s impressive performance earned him the ticket to England for the event that starts on July 15.

Mir led the field from the very first day and registered an 18-over-par in the 54-hole tournament. APP
