LSE Seminar: Focus remains on accelerating growth

LAHORE: The second day of the Eighth Annual Conference on Management of the Pakistan Economy hosted by the Lahore School of Economics was devoted to discussions on the means and channels of accelerating economic growth in Pakistan. International Growth Centre Country Director Dr Ijaz Nabi stated that there still exist substantial economic surpluses in regional economies that Pakistan can exploit. The final session attempted to discuss the issue of making provincial devolution work in Pakistan. The second session analysed immediate constraints and long term triggers for economic growth in Pakistan. This session focused on steps to encourage private investment activity and promote domestic entrepreneurship.
