MANSEHRA/SHANKIARI: The chief of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that his party is in favour of new provinces and they would pursue the Hazara province at a suitable time.

Addressing a public gathering here in Shankiari on Tuesday, the PML-N chief said that instead of foreign countries, President Asif Ali Zardari should have visited the flood affected areas. The PML-N, he said, would never leave the flood affectees alone and the Punjab government would send relief goods soon for them.

He made it clear that he is not visiting Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to pursue a political agenda, but to show his solidarity with those affected by the floods. “The floods have created havoc in the country; therefore I appeal to the prime minister and chief minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to help the affectees,” he said.

He said that the federal and provincial government has neglected the flood affected people of Hazara and no one has provided relief to them; but the PML-N would do whatever it could do for the people of Hazara and Kohistan. Condoling with the bereaved families of Kohistan, he said that the Punjab government would provide them assistance and relief goods.

sultan, Abbottabad | 13 years ago | Reply The only solution to the suffering of neglected areas is to create more provinces to share development and utilize the resources. If a new province of Hazara is not created it will definitely increase confrontation and may lead to civil disobedience.
Abdul Rahman Khan | 13 years ago | Reply By supporting new provinces, Nawaz Sharif is only playing dirty politics. He wants a new province of hazara where his son-in-law safdar will play politics more conveniently. If this genie of new provinces comes out of the bottle, it is bound to create hatred and ill feelings among the people. New provinces mean at least two more for punjab, one for PK, one for pashtun area in baluchistan and one in sind (where the old population will never accept it).Pakistan is already facing too many problems, let there be no more new ones for the people to grapple with each other.
