Crackdown: Six revenue officials held over corruption charges

Arrested over charges of depriving a private complainant and making fake entries in the official land record.

Six officers of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Revenue Department were arrested on charges of tampering the official land record by the AJK Accountability Bureau.


The bureau spokesperson said in a press statement issued here on Thursday that four officials of the AJK Revenue Department Bhimber district were arrested over charges of depriving a private complainant Muhammad Razzaq and making fake entries in the official land record.

On Friday, the bureau arrested two more officials of the AJK two more officials of the AJK Revenue Department on similar charges, said the bureau spokesperson in another press statement.

The names of the arrested individials are: Ch. Fazalur Rehman, Ghafoor Younis, Nazir Ahmed, Sabir Hussain, Zahidur Rehman and Muhammad Aslam.

Further investigations are in progress, the spokesperson said, adding that more arrests of the accomplices of the arrested accused are expected after the ongoing interrogation of the accused.
