Cricket: Kohat XI advance to semis

PESHAWAR: Kohat XI advanced to the semi-finals of the NBP Twenty20 Inter-Club Cricket Tournament after defeating Golden Club by 60 runs in the second quarter-final yesterday. Batting first, Kohat XI scored 200 for eight in the allotted 20 overs. Openers Shameel and Faisal Ali provided a partnership of 105 runs as Shameel made 55, an innings that included seven boundaries and one six while Faisal scored a half-century with eight boundaries. For Gold Club, Shahab took three wickets, Amir and Amil Khan picked up two wickets each. In reply, Gold Club were all out for 140. Aimal Khan top-scored with 39, an innings that included three boundaries, while Amir scored 29 with four boundaries. For Kohat XI, Yasir Ali took three wickets, Zafar, Taimur and Muzamil picked up two wickets each.
