Traffic logjam: Police tear gases protesting clerks

QUETTA: Police fired tear gas shells at protesting government clerks on Zarghoon Road who tried to march towards the Chief Minister Secretariat, in order to press him to fulfill their demands, particularly time-scale, house requisition and other allowances. Police dispersed the protesters in order to restore normal flow of vehicular traffic on the busy Zarghoon Road near the Civil Secretariat. The protest was called by the All Pakistan Clerk Association (APCA). The protesters marched from the office of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation to the Hockey ground on Zarghoon Road. Government employees from Sibi, Mastung and other areas also joined the procession. The protest resulted in a massive traffic jam in the city.
