Rocket attacks injure 3 in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Five rockets fired from unknown locations struck Hayatabad area of Peshawar, injuring three people on Tuesday night.

An official from Tatara Police Station, who did not wish to disclose his identity, told The Express Tribune that there were two attacks. In the first attack, three rockets were fired at Hayatabad, Phase 6,  but they did not cause any damage, while two more rockets that struck Phase 7 later left three people injured. The injured were shifted to hospital.

“Since the start of the operation against terrorists in Shalober, an area adjacent to Khyber Agency, around a dozen rockets have been fired at this posh residential town,” the officer said.

So far a cab driver has been killed and six people have been injured in these attacks, while several houses have been damaged too. The attacks have panicked residents of the town.
