Nurse rape case investigation concludes

Investigation suggests that Dr Memon of JPMC raped the nurse.

KARACHI: Police completed their investigation of the rape of a student nurse of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Karachi, and have submitted the final challan in the court.

The main accused, former Jinnah Hospital medico-legal officer Dr Abdul Jabbar Memon, was presented before the court on Tuesday. The investigation report suggests that Memon had raped the nurse and pushed her out of the window from his apartment.

However, the court was informed that the final DNA report was still due.

The court will indict the accused on the 24th of August.

Abdul Aleem | 14 years ago | Reply The govt and even Presdient.Zardari instructed to the authority to see the case at special basis , why they delaying for court punishment. For such case a special tribunal required who took decission in a max 30 days period. The time frame if further extends for the case the witnesses and victim will be less attentive to get their justification. Plz make a special court for such incident/ cases for immediate punishments.

Malik Tariq Ali | 14 years ago | Reply This could only have happened in Pakistan, that a poor nurse is brutally raped by an influential doctor and the onus to prove that crime falls on her. The rapist doctor, who had served as Medico Legal doctor in civil Hospital, is well connected with both police and some influential medicos. Inspite of the wide coverage by media, the police in its report have fabricated evidence to facilitate the rapist. This is what happens in our rural villages and the same has happened in Pakistan's biggest urban city.

SadafFayyaz | 14 years ago | Reply The gals cousin told me that DNA report doesnt say that he raped her. and secondly the case becomes weak since he is like that she used to go out with him......mostly for promotion kind.....Even if she went out, she doesnt deserve harrassment...to this extent...the culprit is still there...but case loses its strength....
