While denying allegations of his involvement in the ephedrine scam, the premier’s son Ali Musa Gilani had expressed his lack of trust in ANF DG Brigadier Faheem. In a 12-page written statement submitted to the Supreme Court through his counsel Salman Akram Raja, Ali Musa had requested the court to replace the officer in-charge of the investigation in the case.
Brigadier Faheem's lawyer, Akram Shaikh, presented his arguments in court stating that the court orders have not been implemented properly and the government only followed the orders regarding the cancellation of transfers.
The court went on to direct Brigadier Faheem to complete the inquiry and present the report.
Brigadier Faheem further informed the court that a notice was sent to the concerned authorities to provide attendance records from the Prime Minister House, but there has been no response and the records have not been provided.
The chief justice stated that if Secretary Narcotics intervened, strict action would be taken.
The case regarding the illegal sale of ephedrine was registered on October 10 last year, after two pharmaceutical companies were accused of obtaining export quotas for the drug in collusion with the health ministry officials that exceeded the limits fixed by the INCB.

Even otherwise, they have enough money. So do they need to indulge in irregularities?
The PCO CJ never found enough evidence against any terrorist and the gang rapists of M. Mai and releases them all. This same court system in one morning settled the case of Ray Davis swiftly with all the payments and the flight out of Pakistan. However, they are very vigilant and become prosecutors like Memo case where they made a foreigner their star witness and prosecutor at the same time. It appears that only Gen Mush knew how to deal with his PCO faithful judges after they endorsed his military dictatorship.
@Mirza: Are you for real? Why can't son of PM be trialled? Is court/kechehry built for poor ones only?
The prosecution will not have enough evidence and he will be aquitted - why should this be any different from the rest.
From the manufactured Memo case to ISI stealing money and providing it to rightwing parties to steal elections from PPP, the lawyer has always been Akram Shaikh. Now he is again in this case, is there any other lawyer in the country or he is the only one against the govt? In addition to Akram from Memo to medicine an army high official is the main character, is that an accident? Looking at the past history of generals and SC judges, why an army officer is once again going against the elected leader? Is there no civilian good enough to prosecute the Gillani or the PCO judges want to keep it in safe hands of Akram and army?
Mr convict PM whole family seems corrupt and looters.I hope he is thrown behind the bars for 20 years.
Nip the evil in the bud.
Let the Justice takes its course and the culprits should be brought to justice. This is the voice of the day. There should be no place for prejudice and partiality and if any one , may it be the son of PM is involved in it, should be punished accordingly.
Can an ordinary accused express lack of trust in the investigators and lodge a plea in the SC to replace ? This proves that ruling elite expect special privileges. They are not people's representatives.
