LAHORE:

Three people – two shopkeepers and a security guard at Hafeez Centre – who, according to news reports, were flagged by Indian agencies as members of Lashkar-e-Taiba and allegedly entered India, on Monday approached the Lahore High Court for protection from possible arrest by Pakistani agencies.

Petitioners Atif Butt, Mehtab Butt and Babar submitted that they were residents of Lahore and currently working at Hafeez Centre. They said the Times of India report had tarnished their image by branding them as terrorists. They requested the court to issue directions against their possible arrest by Pakistani agencies.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court, however, directed the petitioners to file an amended petition after removing Indian embassy from list of the respondents.
