Meera’s ‘abortion’: Plea to be heard on Wednesday
Petition against actress Meera, her ex fiancé Capt Naveed, three doctors and others in an illegal abortion case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Khan fixed May 16 to hear arguments on a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against actress Meera, her ex fiancé Capt Naveed, three doctors and others in an illegal abortion case. The doctors’ counsel did not appear at the hearing. The petition has been filed by one Muhammad Islam who said that Meera, her ex fiancé and Dr Shahida Khwaja, Dr Waseem and Dr Nasreen of the National Hospital, Defence, be punished for committing the crime. He said he had earlier approached the Defence-B station house officer to register a case against the people, but the SHO had refused to do so.
