MULTAN:

A woman was referred to Nishter Hospital in Multan on Friday after remaining hospitalised at a rural health centre in Kotli Najabat village for five days following a sexual assault.

An examination carried out at the RHC by Dr Aneeza Mustafa had confirmed assault.

She told The Express Tribune that the woman was now out of danger. However, the doctor said, she was being sent to Nishter Hospital because of better treatment facilities there.

The woman told The Tribune that she was cut by razor blades on resisting the assault.

She said she could not identify any of the five men as they had covered their faces with.

The FIR registered by the Raja Ram police says she was kidnapped and raped on May 6 by five unidentified men. It says she was found lying unconscious the following morning in a field near the village.
