KARACHI: Experts focused on the need for businessmen to export goods that retain a local touch, at International Conference of Marketing 2012, which concluded at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) on Sunday. The conference provided an opportunity for students and marketing professionals to listen to renowned academicians and marketing professionals from around the world. IBA’s dean and director, Dr Ishrat Husain, encouraged youngsters present on the occasion to question and to interact with the experts. “You will not get [to meet] such a group of experts under one roof for two days. Let your curiosity be the beginning of a learning process.” Yasmin Zafar, convener of the ICM 2012 and chairperson of IBA’s marketing department, said that the conference had helped reveal several marketing opportunities in the region and specifically in Pakistan.
