KARACHI: The Pakistan Post issued a commemorative postage stamp for thalasemmia major, denominated in eight rupees, ahead of the World Thalassemia Day, which will be observed on May 8. The Cure 2 Children Foundation (C2CF) had requested the Pakistan Post Office Department to issue a stamp to creating awareness about the blood disorder. According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Post, the multi-colour 50.5x35 mm stamp was designed by Adil Salahuddin, an artist who was given the Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz awards by the government.
