Capacity building: ILO team visits EOBI head office

KARACHI: International Labour Organisation’s Gender Specialist Saadya Hamdani and Senior Programme Officer Manzoor Khaliq visited the head office of Employees Old-age Benefit Institution (EOBI) recently to discuss the decent work programme and capacity-building of the institution to achieve the goals.  According to a press release, EOBI Director General Hanif Baloch highlighted the areas where both the organisations could support each other. Capacity building of officers, expansion of EOBI coverage to home-based workers, upgrading the database and warehouse were shortlisted for further deliberation. It was also decided that the social security specialist of ILO would visit EOBI to further deliberate on these issues.
